Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich is a Russian-born concert pianist and distinguished piano teacher. She studied with her mother, Madame Luba Lipmanovich-Yackobishvili, who was an outstanding pianist and a great teacher. She also studied with well-known Russian pianist Tatiana Nickolayeva in the Moscow Tchaickovsky Pre-Conservatory.
Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the Juilliard School of Music in New York. She was a protege student of the legendary Madame Rosina Lhevinne who brought her from Israel to Juilliard School on a full scholarship. Yulia received a master’s degree from the Rubin Academy of Music of the Tel Aviv University, in Israel also on a full scholarship. She was awarded her Doctorate in Piano Performance in 1998 from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Among her teachers were Anthony di Bonaventura and Rudolfo Caporally.
She has appeared in major concert halls as a soloist, with orchestras and chamber groups throughout Russia, Israel, Europe, and Thailand, and in such prestigious venues in the United States such as Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York.
She has given numerous Master Classes worldwide – Among them in Chicago, Italy, Thailand, Russia, and Israel. She has taught on the piano faculties of the Boston Conservatory, Boston College, Northeastern University, Daley College, and the Rubin Conservatory of Music in Jerusalem in Israel.
Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich has been on a Piano Faculty at the Summer Music Festival of the Gulf in Italy at San Marco di Castellabate (Solerno) since 2013 and was an Honorary President of the Jury of the “Madame Rosina Lhevinne Piano International Competition” held in San Marco, Italy in 2015. She is also on Artist Piano Faculty at InterHarmony International Music Festival. Dr. Lipmanovich was teaching and perfirming in Ameropa Musical Arts Festival in St. Petersburg in Russia in August 2018.
Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich was appointed by the Juilliard School of Music in New York to teach Piano in the After School Arts with Juilliard Nord Anglia Performing Arts Program.
Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich was on the Jury for the Thailand 6th Mozart International Piano Competition and 5th Chopin International Piano Competition. She also gave Master Classes and solo performances.
Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich performed Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Kirov Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra with a Chief Conductor Maestro Valery Raevsky in Russia. She is a member of Music Teachers National Association and Chicago Area Music Teachers Association. She had numerous performances on radio and television including WFMT 98.7, a classical music station in Chicago.
Dr.Yulia Lipmanovich is the Executive Director and Founder of The Art of Piano Playing & Performing Arts, Inc. located at the Fine Arts Building in Chicago. She teaches international students from all over the world via Skype. She brings a vast wealth of teaching and performing experience which enables her to successfully introduce young performers of any level and age to the beautiful world of Classical Music.
