Dr Yulia Lipmanovich is a wonderful teacher! Great ambience! Great location! Both my 10 year old daughter and I started taking piano lessons from Dr. Yulia about six months ago. We couldn’t be happier with our enjoyable learning experience and the progress we made in such a short period of time. Yet Dr. Yulia has always been friendly, patient, encouraging and passionate. She not only pays a remarkable amount of attention to technique (hand position, finger position, wrist movement, articulation, etc.), she also imbues us with a sense of musicianship. With Dr. Yulia’s guidance, my daughter already had her very first recital and played several pieces from master composers. Dr. Yulia has helped bring so much joy to our family through her teaching. I highly recommend her to anyone who is interested in piano lessons.
I have been in Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich’s studio for almost four years. Although I have cumulatively played piano for thirteen years, I can, without reservation, assert that these last four years were simultaneously the most developmentally challenging and musically rewarding of my pianistic career. Without her incisive, analytical instruction or encouragement, it is unlikely that I would have achieved the same level of technical proficiency or musical maturity that I now enjoy.
When I first came to study with Dr. Lipmanovich, my technical foundation was unstable, my repertoire level too low, and my tone empty at times. After tremendous advancement within even my first six months of study with her, I applied to and was accepted to attend the Indiana University Piano Academy with a merit scholarship. Later that year, I was named a gold medalist in CAMTA’s Sonata festival, performing in their winner’s concert, and in this spring, I was invited-through a competitive audition process- to play in the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra’s annual Rising Stars Concert
Currently, as a graduated high school senior, I am in my last phase of study with Dr. Lipmanovich. In the fall, I will be attending Southern Methodist University on a full tuition scholarship, most of which is directly tied to my musical ability. Thanks to her training and guidance, I was accepted to all music schools that I applied to, always with substantial merit scholarships attached.
I can and do recommend Dr. Lipmanovich without reservation. She is a phenomenal teacher, and without her, I would not be the pianist I am today.
Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich is a unique teacher and a truly amazing pianist who has encouraged me to stretch past my old days’ limit. She is a brilliant, inspiring, and fascinating kindred spirit, and how much my piano playing has succeeded is unimaginable.
Her instructing is difficult, but I assure you I leave every lesson with enchanting musical notes floating out the doorway and an enormous smile that would barely fit my face.
I started taking lessons from Dr. Lipmanovich in 2012 after having been away from formal instruction on the piano since my college days almost 30 years ago. I have dramatically improved my playing and the quality of the sound since I began taking lessons from Dr. Lipmanovich. She has taught me all the different aspects of playing that I was not even aware of. She has a wonderful perspective on the music and has been able to bring out all the detail and nuances of music that make a piece of music sing and speak to the listener. It is all the attention to every single detail of the music that creates a wonderful sound that the listener may not even be aware of, but which makes the music beautiful. This is what Dr. Lipmanovich is so capable of teaching and pulling out of her students, more so than any other teacher I have ever known.
While I’ve only studied with Dr. Lipmanovich for about two years out of my twelve years of experience, the amount I learned over those two years surpasses even the ten years prior to it combined. Lessons with her are always intense, but her energy, passion, and musical prowess are engaging, making the learning process both enjoyable and fascinating. She has a passion for perfection and drives you to be the best that you can be. Balancing her emphasis on artistic sensitivity with her attention to technical proficiency, Dr. Lipmanovich has pushed me to new levels of musical mastery. I would highly recommend her as a teacher to anyone, regardless of skill level. Without her instruction, I know that I would not be the pianist that I am now.
“I wanted to take a moment to share some of my experiences from the Summer Festival of the Gulf in San Marco, Italy. My 6 years old grand son Mark participated in a program and was a student of a great teacher Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich. We have been there for 10 days and it has been an amazing experience, the one I will never forget.
The program provided a unique opportunity for young gifted musicians to be coached by a faculty of distinguished musicians to develop their musical abilities.
It was a wonderful blend of beautiful southern Italy surrounding and exiting, friendly, uplifting atmosphere, where all could appreciate and enjoy the Music!

In addition to being a brilliant performing artist, Yulia is an inspiring and charming teacher. Her patience, understanding, sensitivity, and humor make my lesson a high point of my week. The Festival of the Gulf was a wonderful experience and surpassed all of my expectations. The campus was lovely and the accommodations were spacious and comfortable. The food was varied and delicious and the staff and service was terrific. I can remember the first time I saw her recital and teaching notices at Coulson’s music store on Van Buren around the corner from her studio. The title of her studio caught my attention and I took the information home. I didn’t act on it for quite a while, but the day I made the call and heard her warm and reassuring voice my piano playing has headed straight for the stratosphere. It didn’t happen over night but the constant attention to detail and the magic that great teachers have continued to thrust my musicality further than I thought possible. Yulia Lipmanovich has made that possible(I hope I spelled her name correctly) and I have had many piano teachers. Bach, Chopin, Mozart it doesn’t matter as she has an intimate knowledge of the great composers and their music. As Duke would say Love Her Madly.
Dr. Yulia Lipmanovich’s teachings are beyond of what is expected. The true heart of the Russian School of Music is with her. It is not every day that you come across a person who’ve studied with the great Rosina Lhevinne. If anyone wants to improve their skills as a concert pianist, you have to come and study with Dr. Yulia. I am a concert pianist myself and I have been a student of hers since August of 2017 and I can see a huge difference in my playing today and before meeting Dr. Yulia. The best way to describe her teaching style is that she is just like her teacher Rosina Lhevinne – she’s passionate, patient, goal-driven, and cares about her students by giving them every advantage to be better. The environment feels as if it is a family because she treats everyone like a family.
